Although his name may not be familiar, listen to one of Bob Dorough‘s Schoolhouse Rock! tunes and you’ll find yourself singing along instantly. But long before the wildly popular children’s educational show brought his music to a wider audience, Dorough had established himself as a talented jazz composer and pianist. Playing since 1956, he has collaborated with such heroic figures as Miles Davis and Allen Ginsburg, and toured extensively around the world.

Nowadays, Dorough continues to tour all over the country, playing at both concert venues and schools. But don’t worry about missing out if you go to one of his grown-up shows — he’ll play some Schoolhouse Rock! for us big kids as well.

Bob Dorough played in Studio 1a for John Aielli and you can listen to it RIGHT HERE!
