Ernest Greene, aka Washed Out, has been riding high after releasing one of the most critically acclaimed albums of last year. 2011′s Within and Without, his first full length album after his debut and subsequent takeover of every music blog on the internet in 2009, managed to land itself on a ton of year-end top 10 lists and launched Greene into popularity. The praise is well deserved to say the least. Greene’s music is equal parts lush, intense, and ambient; it’s synth and sample driven pop with some real heady lyrics and impressive vocals. Altogether, it’s an addictive mix. Washed Out is currently on tour, and will be hitting up Austin and will be at Mohawk on Thursday the 10th. While he’s in town, Greene will stop by Studio 1a to record a liveset with KUT. You can hear the product of that session right here.
