The Academy of Medicine, Engineering & Science of Texas at UT Austin will host a summit on water management next week. Scientists, politicians and water utility leaders will gather to discuss water security in Texas.
Danny Reible, Ph.D., is the program chair for the conference and the director for the Center for Research in Water Resources at UT.
“The Texas Water Summit is an effort to explore the consequence of our drought,” Reible says. “What is our availability of our water? What are the needs for our water? And ultimately how can we match the gap between the two now and in the future?”
The summit kicks off on Sunday night with a keynote speech by State Representative Mark Strama and continues throughout the day Monday at the AT&T Conference Center at UT.
