We’re quite pleased to be be bringing you the first installment of Storytime at the Cactus on today’s podcast. This is a cool new show produced by KUT’s own Angela Maldonaldo, who brought together a few of her favorite folks to tell stories at the Cactus Café recently. This first edition of the show featured author Belinda Acosta, improviser Ryan Hill, and radio’s Laurie Gallardo, who produces the Austin Music Minute right here at KUT. That show was a big hit, so will there be more Storytimes in the future? Maybe. I don’t know. Nobody tells me anything around here.
And we’ve also got a little something from veteran producer Eric Winnick. We’ve aired a lot of Eric’s stuff on O’Dark, because he tends to produce pretty good stuff. Today’s piece, Railfans, is no exception. It chronicles the half-century of communication between a group of like-minded train enthusiasts.
