Senate Candidate Interview: Craig James
Nine Republicans are running for their party’s nomination to replace Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison. Former pro football star Craig James was one of the more surprising entries.
The former ESPN commentator came into the race with almost no political experience, which he says is a great asset. James has called his competitors career politicians and political insiders.
James has campaigned heavily on repealing the federal health care law. He told KUT’s Ben Philpott there’s no place for the government in health care.
I’m about to come up with an idea and a plan to try to privatize as many of the agencies and tasks of the federal government as possible, because I believe that the free markets and private citizens working and doing a job are far better at it and more efficient at it than we have with the federal government.
