Scorched Trees to Be Milled for Bastrop Rebuilding

Over the weekend, teams of truck-wielding volunteers took to the fire-ravaged Lost Pines outside of Bastrop. Their goal: to pull the most logs out of a seven acre portion of the forest. The winners got a cash prize, and the satisfaction of knowing that those logs would be milled and turned into lumber to help families affected by the Labor Day fires.
