Red Young Live in Studio 1A
Red Young/ Jorge Sanhueza-Lyon/ KUTWe are blessed to live in Austin for many reasons: Barton Springs; SXSW; and great public radio-wink. But maybe the best reason of all is because we can go out and listen to music that is original, spontaneous and LIVE every night of the week. Among these incredible musicians you’ll find out and about performing is artist Red Young.
Red Young is an Austin based musician, artist, composer, producer, craftsman…the list describing the talents and skills of this man could go on and on. He has built a career by playing and touring with the likes of Sunny and Cher, Dolly Parton, Linda Ronstadt and countless others. These days Red not only works to shape and create the sound of the Austin jazz scene, he literally helps craft the stages, produce the records, and build the relationships that make it a healthy, living, breathing presence in Austin.
We caught up with Red in KUT’s Studio 1A when he dropped by to record some original compositions on our Steinway. Here is Red Young Performing “Hope” at KUT, enjoy!
