Recently, David Brown interviewed Pachanga Fest founder Rich Garza on Texas Music Matters, and asked him a question that resonated with me:  What defines Latino music? What exactly does Latino music mean?

I continued this discussion with two local musicians, both of whom are in bands that were invited to play Pachanga Fest this year:  Bobby Garza of Maneja Beto, and Steven Gonzales of Politics. Both shared their perspectives on what may – and may not, necessarily – define the identity of Latino music and the individuals who create it.
