KUT on the Move: Tom Lekometros

May 8, 2012 9:41 am by: Angela Maldonado

Growing up in St. Louis, architect and broadcast design leader Tom Lekometros loved visiting his local rock station KSHE. “You got to see what it meant to make radio,” he reminisced. “So the idea that a visitor to a radio facility can see radio being made is the backbone of what we’ve done” for the KUT Public Media Studios.

“Everyone who walks through the plaza on their way to KUT will see Performance Studio 1A before even entering the building — it’s the performance cornerstone of the KUT experience,” he says. “And when they walk into KUT visitors will see music, news and other content being produced and prepared for broadcast, which is another aspect of delivering the KUT experience upon entering this building.”
