Keep the Sea-Doo at Home This Weekend
It'll be busy on the water over Memorial Day, so personal watercraft won't be allowed. Photo courtesy Christopher Rose at flickr.com/khowaga/If you’re planning on heading out to Lake Austin to celebrate the long Memorial Day weekend, you should leave your motorized surfboard at home.
The Austin Police Department is reminding people of the annual ban on motorized personal watercraft, like Jet Skis, from sunset on Friday to sunrise on Tuesday. Things like kayaks, canoes and waterboards are still allowed.
APD says the ban is necessary because more people than usual will be on the lake this weekend.
