The Texas drought scorched fields, killed livestock and drained water supplies. Now a new report by the Legislative Budget Board looks at how much the drought cost state government. For StateImpact Texas, KUT’s Terrence Henry reports that state agencies and public universities spent about $200 million fighting wildfires, and there were other expenses too.
