Big 12 Names New Commissioner

May 4, 2012 4:25 pm by: Andrew Uhler

The Big 12 Athletic Conference announced its new commissioner this morning. Bob Bowlsby, who spent the last six years as Stanford’s Athletic Director, was named to the post.

Bowlsby – taking over for Dan Beebe, who resigned last year – comes to the conference during a time of change. Missouri and Texas A&M are leaving to join the Southeastern Conference at the end of June. Those schools will be replaced by TCU and West Virginia. Bowlsby starts in mid-June.
