Ann Richards School Internship Project: Tribute to Studio 1a
For the past week Taylor Harris and Lily Pellette, two juniors from the Ann Richards School for Young Women Leaders, have been digging through our Studio 1a video and photo archives to create a tribute to the room that has been instrumental in creating KUT’s distinctive sound. Enjoy!
For this video, we went through KUT’s archives for memorable videos, pictures, and music from studio 1A. For more than forty years, KUT has been broadcasting from the basement of Communications Building B, capturing the hearts and ears of Austin. Throughout the years this room has seen some big breaks, celebrated the lives of artists around the world and created moments that Austin will never forget. Studio 1A will forever be remembered for the fantastic performances and even better relationships.
As KUT moves to a new building, we wanted to create a reminder of where KUT has been, and also create excitement for all the great performances yet to come. This doesn’t mean that the original Studio 1A will be forgotten, on the contrary, the old Studio 1A will be cherished as an important milestone and an endearing example of where KUT is headed.
