We’ve been bringing you a lot of How Sound lately, ’cause it’s a cool, relatively new show that we’re pretty fond of, and also because we know you love to get a little peak at the inner workings of the world’s most exciting business, radio production. This episode of the program is “#11: The Longest, Shortest Time.” It’s a cool look at the work of producer Hillary Frank, from her earliest attempts at production to her current podcast. You’ll hear about her apocalypse-obsessed ex-roommate, you’ll hear about the primitive methods she used to produced her early pieces (with an answering machine and a boombox), and you’ll hear about why she started doing radio again after some time away from the biz.
We’ll close things out with an unusually sweet piece for O’Dark — a youth-produced audio poem called To My Little Brother. Hey, we’re not robots around here! We have hearts and emotions just like every one else.
