Country musician Shelby Lynne never didn’t think that she would be a singer. Raised in Alabama by a musical family, she grew up listening to her parents’ 45s, mostly old pop stuff that really opened her eyes to the music world. As soon as she could, she left home and took off towards Nashville. There she successfully signed a deal and recorded five albums, each of which were warmly recieved. But it wasn’t until her 6th album, I Am Shelby Lynne, produced by pop producer Bell Bottrell, that she really made the big time. For that album, she won the Grammy for Best New Artist in 2000. The “New Artist” moniker was just a little late – 13 years into her career. Since then, she’s released seven more albums, started her own record label, and kicked off a bit of an acting career with and appearance in the film Walk the Line as Johnny Cash’s mother. She’s a bit busy. Check her out on in Studio 1a RIGHT HERE!
