Yes indeed, this is one good way to shake off those Monday blahs. Grab yourself a cold one and enjoy the tunes of Leo Rondeau.
The Austin-based songwriter, one of my local faves whom I’ve often referred to as “that feller Down at the End of the Bar,” in reference to his 2009 album, continues his Monday night residency at the Hole In the Wall, 2538 Guadalupe. He provides a good dose of traditional country and roots with contemporary musings and a touch of bluegrass, spinning tales of love, woe, and intrigue with a genuine air and just the right amount of twang.
Joining Mr. Rondeau on the bill is an individual whose style reminds you that he’s more than just horn rims and hair: Songwriter and roots rocker John Evans. The music gets started tonight around 10 p.m. Drop by and tell ‘em the Austin Music Minute maven sent ya.
