Accordionist Joel Guzman was once considered a child prodigy, known among fellow (much older) accordion players as “El Pequeño Gigante,” or the small giant. Today he is one of the world’s most prominent accordionists in the world, playing music spanning and bending genres such as Tejano, jazz, country, salsa, R&B and rock. In addition to his instrumental talent, Guzman is a gifted vocalist, innovator, arranger and producer. Joel Guzman will stop by KUT to play in Studio 1a with a smattering of other accomplished accordion players in order to promote Squeezebox Mania, a mini-festival celebrating the accordion and accordionists on Saturday the 21st at Jovita’s. Guzman and the Squeezebox Mania stopped by Studio 1a and you can here them HERE!
