Taking their name from a state park in central Missouri, Ha Ha Tonka puts an rock edge to the folk sounds that have been bubbling out of the Ozarks for generations. True to their rootsy sound Ha Ha Tonka’s recent album Death of a Decade was recorded in a 200 yr old barn in New York. Since it’s release in late 2011 the album has garnered high praise from critics across the country and made its way onto many stations playlists. The band will appear at the Old Settler’s Music Festival in Driftwood, TX this weekend but you can get a taste of Ha Ha Tonka from their recent visit to KUT’s Studio 1a. Enjoy!
