I hope you weren’t considering starting the weekend without first downloading the spanking new O’Dark podcast. That would be a disastrous idea, and we would be held responsible for anything that happened to you if you made that call. Instead, start the weekend the smart way, the O’Dark way, with this fine, absolutely free collection of audio.

We’ll start things off with the latest in the semi-regular series Portrait of an Artist. This homegrown KUT original features local and touring artists of all types, and today’s edition is a pretty good one. It’s producer/bassist Roscoe Beck, who’s famous for his work with Leonard Cohen and has lately become the unofficial house bassist for our Views and Brews program at the Cactus Café.

And that’s not all! We know you love getting a peek behind the scenes of the glamorous and mysterious world of radio production, so we’re bringing you another installment of How Sound. This week, you’ll bet some insight on a piece called Leaving, which itself has been featured on the big big show. Pretty interesting stuff, if you’re as into radio as we are.
