Award winning Latin rock group Del Castillo started with brothers Rick and Mark’s shared love for all things rock n’ roll. After years of playing in their own projects the brothers united to create an album their parents could enjoy. The product was the 2001 Brothers of the Castle which received high praise from fans and critics. The success of that album led to a string of records and movie soundtrack appearances with the help of filmaker Robert Rodriguez. Their newest album Del Castillo boils down their influences into an album that defies easy description yet somehow retains distinct elements of the Latin, blues, and rock that make up their style. You can catch them at Nutty Brown Cafe Saturday or at Waterloo for a in-store performance. If you can’t make it out to either, here is a taste of their new material from their great performance in Studio 1a.
