Austin band Brownout plays latin funk music like nobody else does. It’s loud, it’s raucous, it’s wild, and most of all it’s just plain fun. Since their debut in 2003, they’ve been known for their live shows around town, and in 2008 the band started putting out recorded material. The recordings made waves and inspired the band to actually take themselves a bit more seriously – but not too seriously, they’re still the wildest latin funk outfit around. The band’s released 2 albums in total, with a third, Oozy, on the way. Brownout will play a CD release show at the Mohawk for Oozy. You can hear their performance on KUT RIGHT HERE!
