A wave of talent is descending on Austin today for the beginning of the South By Southwest Film Festival. KUT’s Terrence Henry spoke with festival director Janet Pierson about the can’t-miss films and Texas talent on tap at this year’s festival.
We actually dropped the Lone Star section this year, because it wasn’t serving the filmmakers. We were Texas proud about it, but internationally, they were seen as lesser. So we dropped that, but we have great Texas films throughout the whole program.
