On the 25 year anniversary, to the day, of the first South by Southwest music conference, a man who helped define American popular music over the last quarter century delivered this year’s keynote speech. And in true Bruce Springsteen fashion, it wasn’t long before he was tugging on the heartstrings of an eager audience, telling stories about how the music of his childhood shaped his approach to songcraft and artistic creation. –Andy Uhler
