Austin based band Cotton Mather isn’t the most well known band, but their album Kontiki’s influence is deep and widespread. The album was an enormous hit in the UK, and Noel Gallagher has claimed it to be one of his favorites. It can be said that Kontiki has influenced a great many of the Austin bands that are active today. The album was recently re-released in a slightly more deluxe flavor than before, and Cotton Mather is reuniting to perform the album throughout at this year’s SXSW.
