The StoryCorps mobile booth was in Austin recently collecting stories from your fellow central Texans. The Airstream has now left town, but we’ll continue airing the stories recorded there every Monday and Wednesday morning here on KUT and archiving them here.

Jo Anne Moore and Mary D. Lankford have been friends for many years, and they share a lifelong love of books and the written word. That love is what inspired both to become school librarians earlier in their lives, and has continued to grow now that they’re both retired. And they have more in common as well; both are also movie buffs and writers (Mary is the author of several children’s books). They sat down together recently in the StoryCorps mobile booth and talked about their lives, their beloved husbands (whom they have nicknamed “St. James” and “St. John”), and their love of books.
