Please cast aside the shy, shrinking violet, sitting-off-to-the-side attitude tonight at the delightful East Side Show Room. It won’t work! It’s almost an impossibility when The Inheritance is in the house.

They’re an Austin Music Minute favorite that you need to catch live. The band captivates the crowds with a brilliant combination of Eastern European folk music and quirky modern, experimental touches, including everything from waltzes to klezmer to hot jazz. And, of course, it’s very inspiring on the dance floor.

The Inheritance usually performs as a sextet, but this week, they play as a trio, featuring violinist Michelle Alany, clarinet player Ray Coons, and Brewski Salmineo on brass. Don’t miss out on the fun. The gig starts at 9:30 p.m., and East Side Show Room is located at 1100 E. 6th St. This is one of their favorite places to play because it provides the perfect environment; a bit cozy, but always room to dance. This one comes recommended.
