THE GOOD MUSIC CLUB: The Couch

Greetings from the peeps of The Good Music Club! The GMC is both a live music event and an online video series highlighting Austin-based bands and solo music artists making an impact on the local music scene. This week, we present performances by The Couch. They’re on the bill for Driver F‘s CD release show Saturday night at The ND, 501 North IH-35 at 5th and Brushy, along with Little Radar and Tactics.
The Couch came to Austin by way of San Marcos in 2007. But gone are the days of getting together just to jam in a garage. Now The Couch’s rapidly growing fan base has led to bigger shows, as you’ll see in these exclusive videos. Songwriter Taylor Wilkins heads the quartet that includes bassist Kyle Robarge, drummer Jud Johnson, and pianist and songwriter Sara Houser.
Don’t forget there’s another taping coming up this Sunday, Feb. 26, at The ND, with The Calm Blue Sea, Guns of Navarone, The Blind Pets, and Hello Wheels. Doors open at 6 p.m., and the taping starts at 7 p.m. Admission is free. We kindly ask that you remain for the entire duration of the taping because we need our live audience. Hope to see you then!
