Make Your Gift Early and Enter a Drawing to See Chris Isaak

February 7, 2012 5:00 am by: Angela Maldonado

With his flashy clothes, chiseled features, and greased down flat top, California-born singer Chris Isaak has always looked the part of a rockabilly singer. Yet while this has been one element of his music, a contemporary sheen has surrounded much of his work. He strips all that away for Beyond the Sun, his latest album, recorded at Memphis’ fabled Sun Studio. Paying homage to heroes Presley, Perkins, and Cash, he tips his hat to the people who fashioned his long career.

When you make your gift today, you will be entered into a drawing to see Chris Isaak on February 13th with special guest Wanda Jackson as they tape a very special evening for PBS.

It is a great two for one deal: when you make your gift to the station you’ll be entered into the drawing, AND you’ll be supporting great radio programming!

From Morning Edition to Twine Time with Paul Ray, KUT offers a set of programs as diverse as Austin. Your gift today is what enables KUT to provide the programming you enjoy.

To take full advantage of your gift, make sure you support the station before the drawing ends on Feb. 10th at noon!

To enter the drawing without making a gift, please click here. Listener support is the only reason KUT is able to provide you with interesting and informative radio.

Thanks so much for your support!

Thank you, John Aelli and Chris Isaak for letting us listen in on such a great interview/conversation! One of the best I’ve ever heard on this show. I really enjoyed hearing about the recording process, but most of all, I loved hearing your insights about singing. You are both so knowledgeable and your love for it shows through. As someone who used to sing a lot, and whose son is just starting to get into singing, it was great to get some food for thought to share with him. He watched the PBS show with us last night, and really enjoyed it.

    Thanks again!
