The StoryCorps mobile booth was in Austin recently collecting stories from your fellow central Texans. The Airstream has now left town, but we’ll continue airing the stories recorded there every Monday and Wednesday morning here on KUT and archiving them here.

H.H. Wright of Rogers, Texas was born in 1924. He saw the Great Depression as a young boy and later, as a young man, he served his country in the second world war. He recently sat down with his grandson, Sean Guess, in the StoryCorp mobile booth and shared a few memories, including this remembrance of the end of World War II.
