Any Baby Can Volunteer Opportunities

Turn Key Volunteer Projects
This is a great way to get your group involved with Any Baby Can. Turn Key Volunteer Projects offer an opportunity for volunteers to take charge of their own projects, using their own space, time and resources. We call these “Turn Key Kits” and they involve purchasing or collecting items and assembling kits designed to address clients’ needs.

Turn Key Kits are a great way for groups to work together to create something tangible that directly benefits families. These projects are especially popular with companies, churches, civic groups and schools. We welcome additions and suggest packaging each kit in an appropriate, easy to store/transport bag or container. Kits can be delivered to Any Baby Can offices, located at 1121 E 7th Stt, three blocks east of I-35, on bus route Montopolis #4 from downtown (Congress.)

Saturday Learning Center
Saturdays 10:30 am – 2:30 pm
Saturdays are great days to volunteer at Any Baby Can. During Saturday Learning Center classes, you will help tutor children and parents in literacy, math and English skills and/or supervise children during parenting classes. Once we receive your volunteer application and approved background check, you are free to volunteer whenever your schedule allows.

Come in on any Saturday, and we’ll put you right to work. You will receive on-site training and support. There is no special certification needed for this opportunity. When you arrive, ask for Ruth Wells, Saturday Learning Center Director. You don’t have to call or email before you come as long as you have completed the volunteer application and background check.

Family Literacy Classes
Tuesdays-Fridays 9:00 am – 12:00 pm
Family Literacy Classes are one of our most popular volunteer opportunities. You will work with children in developmental activities, help adults with basic literacy, tutor children and teens with math and reading homework, and help adults with English literacy. Once we receive your volunteer application and approved background check, you are free to volunteer whenever your schedule allows, for any block of time. You will receive on-site training and support for this opportunity.

Drop In Tutoring
Tuesdays and Thursdays 2:30 – 6:00 pm
Tutoring sessions are “drop in” and open to the public. As a tutoring volunteer, you might help a child with her math and reading homework, assist a teen with a school project, work with a new mom studying for her GED exam or coach a dad with English literacy. Once we receive your volunteer application and approved background check, you are free to volunteer whenever your schedule allows, for any block of time. You will receive on-site training and support for this opportunity.
