The StoryCorps mobile booth was in Austin recently collecting stories from your fellow central Texans. The Airstream has now left town, but we’ll continue airing the stories recorded there every Monday and Wednesday morning here on KUT and archiving them here.

Today we’ll hear from Daniel and Mary Myers, who were married in Austin last year. Their path to marriage was a long one, spanning Chicago to Austin. They met nearly two decades ago and became friends; after Daniel moved away from Chicago a few years later, he and Mary continued to run into each other occasionally at friends’ weddings. As Mary notes at the beginning of their conversation, it is remarkable how many weddings mark the turning points in their love story.
