Roy Spence is the co-founder of GSD&M Idea City and the author of several books; he recently sat down in the StoryCorps mobile booth with his son Shay. Roy shared memories of his own father, Roy Spence Sr, including the lessons passed down from “Big R,” which Roy has tried to follow and pass down to his son.
