The StoryCorps mobile booth is in Austin this month collecting stories from your fellow central Texans; we’ll be airing those stories every Monday and Wednesday morning here on KUT and archiving them here.

In the summer of 1996, a guy named Geoff was a UT student and a young woman named Diane was a lifeguard at Gregory pool. The story of how they met, eventually married, and started a family is a long and complicated one, spanning several years and many miles. But it all began on the University of Texas campus nearly sixteen years ago. The couple recently sat down in the StoryCorps mobile booth (currently parked at the Bullock museum, just a couple of blocks from the site of that initial meeting) and recorded the beginning of their love story.
