Gauging Perry’s Traction in South Carolina

The result of Tuesday’s New Hampshire Republican presidential primary election was inconsequential for Texas Governor Rick Perry. Aside from two debate appearances over the past weekend, Perry was willing to write off the Granite State and plead his case to the GOP faithful in South Carolina. With 10 days left until Republicans vote in that state’s primary election, KUT’s Jennifer Stayton spoke with Ben Philpott, who’s covering the Perry campaign for KUT News and the Texas Tribune, about the type of crowds the governor is attracting in this virtual do-or-die contest for his presidential campaign.
