I recently learned from my wife, who knows these kinds of things, that there’s actually a word for people who are afraid of Friday the 13th (the day itself, not the movie series). And that word is paraskevidekatriaphobic. So to all you paraskevidekatriaphobics out there, hang tough. It’s only one day, and it’ll be over before you know it. Of course, if I was the sort of guy to be afraid of Friday the 13th, I’d probably be doubly afraid of a Friday the 13th that happens in 2012 (you know, because of the world ending this year and all). I’m just saying.

What with our newfound sympathy for paraskevidekatriaphobics and their crippling fears, it only seems fitting that we should take it easy on the ghost stories today. So today’s podcast isn’t scary at all. Instead, we’ve got new installments of two very soothing shows hosted by nice and non-threatening people.

First off, it’s “Urban Farming” episode of Destination DIY. What’s less scary than a show about farming hosted by a nice lady from Portland? Not much, I’d imagine.

Then it’s the latest and greatest from Bonjour Chanson, with everyone’s favorite Belgian physicist and French music lover, Charles Spira. He’s a sweetheart of a guy and he’s going to be playing his favorite French pop music for  you. If that’s not audio comfort food, I don’t know what is.
