In can be said, without any exaggeration, that guitarist Bill Frisell is a true virtuoso. It would also be safe to say that very few people would argue that statement after hearing his work. Frisell pours unequaled amounts of passion into every single song he plays, live or recorded, and it shows. His knowledge and love for the guitar has lead to frequent comparisons drawing links between him and his guitar and Miles Davis and his trumpet. Austin based singer-songwriter Carrie Rodriguez also harbors some incredible talent on her instrument of choice, the fiddle. Rodriguez cut her musical teeth playing fiddle on tour for artists such as Chip Taylor, Lucinda Williams and Alejandro Escovedo, all the while honing her songwriting skills. Together, Bill Frisell and Carrie Rodriguez will be playing at the Continental Club on Friday, and you can hear them live on KUT on  Thursday afternoon at 1pm.
