The moment is right for Austin singer-songwriter Seth Sherman. He’s just released his debut solo effort When The Moment Is True.

Sherman is a rock ‘n’ roll veteran. He’s played music from a young age, starting out as a member of the now-defunct, DFW-area group Early Lines with noise-rocker Daniel Francis Doyle, who Sherman later opened for as a solo act. Sherman was also a member of the Austin-based band Haunt. Sherman’s solo debut When The Moment Is True was a two and a half year labor of love for Sherman in which he composed the songs and played every instrument on the record.

Today’s song of the day comes from the new album. “Soft and Sweet” gets the award for truth in advertising. It gently swings to a country rhythm and the guitars are nice and twangy. Sherman gets to show off some nice vocal range, moving from a low tenor to falsetto. It’s a cool tune from a debut that hints at great things to come.
