Originally formed in San Marcos in 2007, The Couch made the move to the Live Music Capital. In Austin, frontman Taylor Wilkins, drummer Jud Johnson (Frank Smith) and bassist Kyle Robarge (The Calm Blue Sea, Frank Smith) recorded three EPs and played numerous gigs around town, rapidly gaining new fans through word of mouth.

The Couch just released their new full-length, the outstanding Old and Touchin’ Blue, the perfect riff-laden melodic hybrid of rock, pop and a touch of blues. And the trio recently became a quartet with the addition of pianist and songwriter Sara Houser. Wilkins recently sat down for an interview with KUT’s Laurie Gallardo to talk about forming the band, and making the transition to more orchestrated music.
