Songwriter Jacob Jaeger is the frontman of Austin quintet Ghosts Along the Brazos, a band of very inspiring melodies in the realm of Americana, a bit blues, folk and Texas swing. And like his bandmates, Jaeger is a young talent with an old soul – an understanding and appreciation of this music that’s beyond his years. You hear it in his voice.
Consider that collectively, each band member has a lot of musical experience to bring to the mix. Keys and Hammond B3 master Connor Forsyth was a member of The Belleville Outfit, and continues to perform with Ray Price‘s touring band; bassist Kristopher Wade and guitarist Gregory Harkins play with The Marshall Ford Swing Band; and drummer James Gwyn tours with Junior Brown.
Keep your eye on this band. Ghost Along the Brazos has a Tuesday night residency at Skinny’s Ballroom, 115 San Jacinto, through December 27. Check them out this Tuesday night, and each Tuesday night, at 8 p.m. Pedalsteel slinger Bob Hoffnar starts each evening out during happy hour at 6:30 p.m. This one comes highly recommended.
