It’s closing in on Thanksgiving, so what better time to bring you a Halloween-themed O’Dark podcast?

All right. Truthfully, we know it doesn’t make a lot of sense, but you have to understand that O’Dark is full of haunted houses and ghost stories pretty much all the time, and once we hit October, it’s really just that and nothing else. So when, in November,  a well-meaning producer looks through recent episodes to find podcastable pieces, he’s really only going to find scary stuff. That’s just how it is around here, folks.

That being said, though, these pieces aren’t seasonable, but they are pretty darn good. We’ve got O’Dark Hall of Famer Jake Warga leading off the ‘cast, with Ghost Tour Through Former Prison in Tasmania. You’d probably never travel to Tasmania yourself to tour a haunted prison, so Jake’s done all the hard work for you; now you just have to sit back and listen to his findings. Easy peasy.

We’ve got another of our Halloween Haunts for you, too, and this one’s set on a cruise ship. Relaxing yet scary stuff!

The big mamma jamma of today’s podcast is the hour-long Unearthing Dracula. It’s an in-depth look at various versions of the vampire (turns out Sesame Street’s Count is based in real vampire lore!) that’s pretty fascinating. Some may say that it’s the wrong time of year for Dracula stories, but we think he’s good anytime. Just look at all those Twilight movies. They’re full of Draculas and the kids love ‘em!
