There’s a multitude of haunted images swirling through the soundscapes constructed by The White White Lights. Almost like the creaking door of a mysterious house, or the isolation of riding the subway alone late at night. It’s the mood created by their sound that remains in your dreams long after you’ve heard their music.

Formed in 2009 by members of Lomita and Monster Girl, the local quartet seems immersed in this spectral sort of atmosphere, adding more depth and texture to each song. Of course, the vocals of Jenny Gacy remain the key ingredient, ranging from alluring and sweetly radiant to a guttural growl. She can make you soon, then proceed to make the hair on the back of your neck rise.

This is one of my favorite local bands. Don’t miss The White White Lights at their show tonight at Frank, located at 4th St. and Colorado. It’s a great bill all around, with The Asteroid Shop and The Space Elevators. Otherworldly delights from alternate universes. Doors open at 9:30 p.m. Recommended.
