For the past decade or so, the annual art show by UT’s Department of Art and Art History included works from the entire faculty, which meant that there wasn’t a lot of room for each artist.

Starting this Friday, they’re taking a different approach. For the next three years, the department will host exhibitions featuring just a portion of the faculty, allowing each artist to show more of his or her work. It’ll be an opportunity for students to get a better look at the art produced by their instructors and for the public to be exposed to some of the fine artists employed by the University of Texas.

As part of the exhibition, there will be a talk with the faculty artists moderated by Interim Chair Lee Chesney on December 1 at 6:30 p.m.
