It is the Wednesday that several of us refer to as “Thanksgiving Eve.” Kind of ridiculous, true, but there you go. And chances are good that you may be headed out of town to join friends and family for a number of Thanksgiving celebrations. However, if you’re spending the holiday here in Austin, I’ve got a very cool show recommendation for you, complete with rock ‘n’ roll and some pre-Turkey Day turkey to feast on, if you’re so inclined.

The Beauty Bar, located at 617 E. 7th Street, close to Red 7, is doing something that’s a tradition of sorts: The Beauty Bar Turkey Fry. Those crazy Beauty Bar peeps prefer the art of frying over an oven-roasted bird (that, or…well, there may not be an oven available at the venue, something like that), and they’re inviting local music fans out for a night of feasting and rockin’-out. And I, your Austin Music Minute hostess with the mostess Laurie Gallardo, must admit I’m rather smitten with the line-up:

- Lightning-and-thunder, floorboard-rattling dynamic duo Not In the Face! brings the rock

- Country-fied, guitar-slingin’ Hank shaman John-David Clark does his pickin’ solo

- Hardcore folk-rock band of hoodlums East Cameron Folkcore storms the stage

- Heavy-duty raw rockers I’d Die For Lo Fi keep it real (trippy) with psych-pop

All this great music in one night. Doors open at 9 p.m. and the music starts at 10. Bring some side dishes, kids. Recommended.
