Texas Executes Man who Murdered Child
The State of Texas executed a man Wednesday night for killing a child in June 1999. Guadalupe Esparza was put to death for raping and strangling seven year-old Alyssa Maria Vasquez after kidnapping her in San Antonio. Esparza was the 13th Texas inmate put to death this year. No more executions are scheduled until January.
Talking to Children About Abuse
As details continue to unfold in the Penn State scandal, some parents have begun to wonder how to talk to their children about how to recognize and report inappropriate behavior. KUT’s Andy Uhler spoke with experts and lawmakers on the difficulty of educating children and their parents on the issue.

I-35 Corridor Open House
The City of Austin wants your input on how to improve one of Austin’s busiest, most congested corridors. The city is holding an open house Thursday to get ideas for mobility projects along I-35 from U.S. 290 East to William Cannon. The city is working with TxDOT and other transportation agencies to lay out short term and long term projects for the I-35 corridor. Here are the details for the open house:
