Quick, name an Austin Music Award category. Bob Schneider has probably won that one at least once. Seriously though, Schneider has a staggering 24 Austin Music Awards as a solo artist, ranging from Male Vocalist of the Year to Best Blue Grass Band, making him somewhat of an Austin legend at this point. Schneider plays his own brand of pop/rock with noticeable influences from the entire spectrum of music. He also takes influence from life, for example, his latest album, A Perfect Day, was inspired by a day on a boat. Schneider took the feeling of that day and tried to set music to it, resulting in the album. Bob Schneider will play the Help Clifford Help Kids Benefit at ACL Live at the Moody Theater on Thursday, and on Saturday he’ll play the Khabele School Coming Up Together benefit.
