Made up of three of Austin’s best jazz musicians, jazz trio Black Red Black has been tearing up the local jazz scene for the entirety of the years they’ve been together. Individually, the members of Black Red Black (Ephraim Owens on trumpet, Brannen Temple on drums and Red Young on organ) are incredibly talented, but together they create a sound that’s entirely new and great. The trio’s brand of jazz can be described as soulful and steeped in the blues with a heavy backbeat. You can hear them live with host Jay Trachtenberg in Studio 1a RIGHT HERE.
