Here’s a story too funny to not share. I, your Austin Music Minute maven Laurie Gallardo, realized that on today’s Music Minute, I erroneously referred to composer Nathan “Flores” of The Noise Revival Orchestra. The correct name is Felix. I’m happy to report that Felix found great humor in this mistake, although I remain mortified.

TNRO began as a thirteen-piece experimental project back in 2006, but has involved as many as 25 musicians, although currently they’ve consolidated into a seven or eight-piece ensemble for smaller shows. They’re not simply a band or an ensemble, but a remarkable and oftentimes impassioned musical experience, and one that caught the attention of various filmmakers, advertising producers, and companies like MTVU, all of whom actively sought out Felix for several projects.

TNRO embarked upon a European tour last summer, promoting their third EP Songs of Forgiveness. Now they’re about to premiere the new video for the title track. They’ll perform at a special video release party Thursday night at Lambert’s, located at 401 W. 2nd St. The show will also feature sets by local bands Burgess Meredith and Paul Banks & The Carousels. Doors open at 9:30 p.m. Highly recommended.
