Steve James was born and raised a blues/folk musician, and it’s not an exaggeration to say that his whole life has been music. He was introduced to blues and folk by his father, and he taught himself to play guitar at the age of 12. Since then, James was all about music. He moved to Austin in 1977, where his first show was at the Armadillo World Headquarters. Now a versatile multi-istrumentalist, Steve James will be playing a show and leading a guitar workshop at the Austin String Band Festival on Saturday. You can hear him play live on KUT when he swings by Studio 1a on Friday at 11 am.
