Indie darling Annie Clark (who performs under the name St. Vincent) has had her share of the spotlight for the past 5 years, but with her newest album Strange Mercy, she seems to really own up to it. Her third album downplays the ornate arrangements of her previous two in favor of bigger guitars and more raw emotion. On the album, Clark paints a portrait of herself, holding nothing back: anger, self reflection, and existential thoughts are all brought to a boil with fervent art rock guitar. On Monday, St. Vincent will be playing ACL Live at the Moody Theater, and you can hear her on KUT when she joins host Jay Trachtenberg in Studio 1a.
