I, your Austin Music Minute maven Laurie Gallardo, am always quite humbled by an opportunity like this. It’s not every day that one gets invited to put together a show with a bunch of artists that one admires, so I’m honored whenever I’m asked to do so at a local venue and select the performers.
That’s what’s going on this month at Frank. I was graciously asked by the Frank peeps to curate my very own music residency series, highlighting acoustic performances by a variety of artists every Tuesday night throughout October. Last week, we had some rather breathtaking performances by Paul Banks (Paul Banks & The Carousels) and visiting artist Matt Ellis. Prior to that, we began the series with two of the best songwriters around, Bill Baird (SUNSET, Blank Fritz) and Devin James Fry (Salesman).
Prepare yourself for another mindblowing show with two more of my favorites: Roots and country artist, that feller Down At the End of the Bar, Leo Rondeau; and indie-folk artist with a phenomenal voice, Jaimee Harris, who played the songwriters’ showcase I presented at Thunderbird Coffee on Manor Rd. back in August.
Join me and these wonderful performers for a fabulous show tonight at Frank, located at 4th and Colorado. Doors open at 9 p.m. Recommended. I hope to see you there.
